Welcome to Our Blog

This blog was started to allow friends and family to see what is going on in our lives. Sit back, hold on and stay a while. It's going to be a bumpy road with a four year old and a newborn on board.

6 More Agonizing Weeks

We have six more weeks until Jaxon is supposed to be here. As long as he's healthy, he can't come soon enough for me. I am so miserable at this point. I'm huge and can't breathe. He's getting so big that he can't even move and when he does my whole belly moves with him. My feet swell by the end of the day and start tingling and I go to the bathroom literally fifty times a day. I go back to the doctor next Thursday. Hopefully I haven't gained too much more weight but that's pretty unlikely since we just ate all through Christmas. :)

Let it Snow!

For the first time in as long as I can remember we had a white Christmas on Sand Mountain. This was the first time that it has snowed since Mason has been born that he has not been sick and he actually got to play in it. We made a huge snowman, snow angels, and had a snow ball fight. Mason enjoyed every minute of it.

Christmas at the Falls

We took Mason to Noccalula Falls this year to see the Christmas lights. We rode the train, walked through and looked at all the lights and Mason got to decorate a cookie. Here are some pictures of our night.

Enjoy!

Christmas has come and gone.

I can't believe how fast Christmas snuck up on us and then we blinked our eyes and it was gone. It gets faster every year. We had a great time with family and friends. All Mason wanted from Santa this year was a big bulldozer.

This was Christmas Eve night at my grandparent's house.

Then we came home and sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn and fixed Santa chocolate milk and cookies which Mason had to sample. Then, it was time for bed.

Christmas morning Tim and I woke up early and had to wait for Mason to wake up. That never happens. He's always up at the crack of dawn but of course not on this day. Santa was very good to our household.

How did your Christmas go?

10 Weeks and Counting

So ten weeks from tomorrow our lives will be changed forever. We will have baby number two. How am I going to take care of two kids? What were we thinking? We will not be able to eat, sleep or bathe when we want. We want be able to just go wherever we want. Everything will revolve around his schedule. I can't wait! He will be such a blessing. I can't wait to see Mason and Jaxon growing up together and interacting with each other. Mason is already in love with "Baby Jaxon". He talks to him and about him all the time. He says he is going to feed him, rock him, and change his diapers. We'll see about that last one. :) We all can't wait to meet you Jaxon and you are already loved by so many people.

Halloween

For Halloween Mason was a doctor. Someone made the mistake of calling him a surgeon and he quickly corrected them. :)

He got a ton of candy and we had a really good time because he understood the concept this year. Next year I plan to dress the whole family up. Tim agreed as long as he got to approve the costume ahead of time.

Fun At the Pumpkin Patch

I'm running a little behind on posts because my computer has been out of commission for a while. On October 16th our Church Youth Group went to the Pumpkin Patch in Sardis. We all had a great time.

20 Weeks: Half Way There!

Facts About Baby:

  • length is 7-9 inches long
  • weighs about one pound
  • ears are developed and he can recognize sound
  • I feel movement all the time. Especially at night.
Facts about Mommy:

  • Total weight gain: 10 pounds. I'm pretty happy with this because I gained a total of 48 pounds with Mason and I'm trying not to gain as much this time. I'm half way through this pregnancy with only a ten pound gain.
  • Symptoms: No more morning sickness. Don't let these words fool you because it's not just "morning" sickness, it's all day sickness. Actually, I never actually got sick but I was nauseous all day, every day. Which to me is worse.
  • If I'm on my feet for a long time they hurt and go numb.
  • I'm hot all the time.
  • I can't lay on my back any more or I can't breathe.
  • I get out of breath easily.
  • I'm hungry all the time. But I'm supposed to be. Right? I'm eating for two.

Fun at the Falls

Saturday morning we got up, ate breakfast and headed to Noccalula Falls to spend the morning.

Mason was all about riding the train, petting the animals and putting his faces in the animal cutouts so I could take his picture. It was a great family fun filled day.

It's a....

For those of you that I've not already told, IT'S A BOY! We are so excited to be having another boy. His name will be Jaxon Colt Kelley and we expect for him to be here February 8, 2011 by cesarean section.

Hard at Work!

Tim's been needing to do A LOT of work in our yard but just hasn't had the time. He finally decided to rent an excavator and do it all at once. He did the work while I was at work and Mason was at daycare but as soon as we got home Mason had to have his turn.

Mason thought he had to ride the excavator all weekend and even got to dig in the dirt.

First Trip to Destin, Florida

Back at the first of August we took our first trip to Destin, Florida. We had a great time but decided we like Orange Beach better. It was just a better fit for our family.

This was our first afternoon at the Destin Commons. They had this neat little play area for kids and of course Mason had to try it out. He was such a little dare devil hollering "Higher! Higher!".

This was our first night on the beach. Mason had a blast in the ocean and sand.

We headed back to the Destin Commons the second day for Mason to play in the water.

Mason learned to doggie paddle in the pool that afternoon and we couldn't keep him out of the water. That's all he wanted to do.

We went to this neat little place called The Village at Baytowne Wharf where we found tree houses to play in and we fed the fish at the marina.

Then we were off to The Track to ride the go-carts and bumper boats and every kiddie ride imaginable.

We also went to the Gulfarium and saw a dolphin show and a sea lion show. Then, we were off for our last night on the beach.
